Over 33 million people world-wide are either infected with the HI-virus or suffering from the disease itself - AIDS. And: world-wide, every 12 seconds a person is newly infected with HIV. For this reason AIDS is still one of the most life-threatening diseases for which there is neither a cure, nor vaccination. Therefore, protection against AIDS is now more than ever essential, even if ‘the face of AIDS’ has changed today!

Help in fight against AIDS with your ideas and visions, with your reasons for the importance of AIDS prevention! Under this year’s motto “HIVisible”, creatively visualize this topic with a video clip / film. Develop a script or write a dialogue. Create characters. Take part in the European AIDS Video Clip Contest “clip & klar europe 09“ hosted by the Federal Centre for Health Education which will be presented within the framework of the 12th European AIDS-Conference (EACS) under the patronage of Eva Luise Köhler, wife of the German Federal President.
The 12th European AIDS-Conference will take place from November 11th – 14th , 2009 in Cologne. Traditionally, this conference concentrates on medical aspects around the topic of AIDS. This year, however, the conference will dedicate a focus to issues surrounding AIDS prevention.
With creative video clips, the aim of the European AIDS Video Clip Contest “clip & klar europe 09“ is to strengthen the public’s awareness about the necessity of protection against HIV and AIDS.
Seeking the Best AIDS Prevention Video Clip…
The European AIDS Video Clip Contest “clip & klar europe 09“ is divided into two categories:
- Category 1: Best national T.V. and cinema social advertisement campaign against AIDS
- Category 2: Best AIDS video clip by a filmmaker or film student
A prominent European jury comprised of leading members from both the AIDS prevention fields as well as the European film and media scenes will select the winners from both categories. The winners will be announced to the public on November 12th , 2009 at the European AIDS-Conference in Cologne.
